Dr. Dan Booth Cohen, Conference Co-Director for the 2011 US Systemic Constellations Conference in San Francisco, is the first US trainer/facilitator certified by the German Association for Systemic Constellations (DGfS). His Ph.D. dissertation in Psychology from Saybrook University was based on using Constellations with a group of long-term inmates in a Massachusetts prison. This was the basis for his book, I Carry Your Heart in My Heart: Family Constellations in Prison (Carl Auer, 2009). He holds a B.A. from Connecticut College and an MBA from Boston University, which included studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His C.V. can be viewed here.

His longstanding involvement with conflict resolution, especially German-Jewish-Arab relations, led him to train with Bert Hellinger, Gunthard Weber, Albrecht Mahr, Hunter Beaumont and others starting in 2000. In recent years, he has led group workshops in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Scotland and pioneered using telephone/Skype Constellations for clients around the world. His group approach employs archetypes, myths and political themes. Dr. Cohen specializes in caring for wounds in deep personal spaces while also applying the wisdom of the field to large collective conflicts.

Dr. Cohen has enjoyed a diverse career as a business owner, corporate executive, author, peace activist and counselor. In 1980, he served as a strategic planning consultant to Dr. Donald Kerr, the Director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The following year, he was a founding member of the City of Cambridge (MA) Peace Commission and later became co-Director of the Boston Children of War Program. His work has been featured on television, newspapers, and in Fortune magazine. Dr. Cohen has published numerous articles and book chapters about Constellations.

Dan, his wife KK, and their daughters, Anna and Rosalie, live in Needham, Massachusetts.
